  • The United States has a population of approx. 300 million.
  • Half the world - 3 billion people - live on less than $2 a day.
  • Number of children in the world 2.2 billion; number living in poverty 1 billion.
  • One billion are illiterate.
  • 270 million children don't have access to health care.
  • 1.6 billion don't have electricity.
  • 1.1 billion people of which 400 million are children don't have access to clean drinking water.
  • 300 million in Africa risk drinking dirty water on a daily basis.
